Melissa should hear something in the next day or two.

It's gut wrenching to wait...

Here is something very cool going on for Anna.

Keiko Guest, a local artist and family friend of the Motts, is having a photo exhibit on April 4th at Georgia Tech with proceeds going to Anna.

Check out this picture!

If you are so inclined, here is the fundraising page.

http://www.gofundme.com/7mlrj0

Lots of 5 and 10 dollar donations could add up….Saying you are from Britbike in the comments section would be a real lift for the Motts.

God Bless Anna Mott

It was a good weekend for the Mott and Duke family.

On Saturday, Emma had her last dance performance as a high school student.

The Motts were in the audience, Anna included. Melissa and Livvy would tell Anna what was going on on stage.

Yesterday, we had lunch together.

I will post more pictures later, but here is my favorite.

God Bless Anna Mott.

Wow, she is an absolutely gorgeous model. When life hands you lemons, as they say...

As thin as she is from all her body has gone through, she has far healthier features than the skeletal females that pass for models these days.

Here is a picture from after the dance.

The girl on the left is Gabbi, and she has known Anna since they were five years old.

I don't think she has seen Anna since her illness.

It was a very poignant moment. Gabbi must have hugged Anna ten times during their short visit. It was very emotional for all.

God bless Anna Mott.

From Gwinnett Magazine, a local publication here in the Atlanta area...

'Don't wait for tomorrow. Love big.' – Anna Mott

She moved with grace across the stage. Every move, every breath seemingly an effortless display of her love of life.

As so many of us do, Anna Mott funneled all her energy into her passion, losing herself in the quiet momentum, her talent on display for those who saw her dance.

As a ballerina with Gwinnett Ballet Theatre, she performed in productions like the Nutcracker, her body and mind in tune: flowing with precision.

A back injury in 2011 put her on the sidelines. A diagnosis of pineoblastoma and a subsequent brain tumor ended her dancing career.

Doctors performed surgery to remove the tumor, but the young girl had already lost her vision. The cancerous growth had done permanent damage, but it couldn't extinguish the light in her eyes.

It couldn't discourage Anna from being positive. "Anna's strength comes from within," said mom, Melissa. "She's always been so mature, so responsible. And she's still strong to this day, despite what she's been through." While mom said Anna's passion for dancing has been put on hold, she's found a new appreciation for life. Her ballet aspirations have been replaced by a desire to help others. "She prays to God everyday that he'll find a way to use her. Now, Anna wants to be a nurse."

The past several years have taught Anna's mom many lessons. "Don't sweat the small stuff, don't wait for tomorrow," she said. "And love big.""

This is pretty cool!

At the photography exhibit tonight (See my #534059 - 03/21 post), Anna is going to perform!

Here is a short clip of Anna rehearsing.

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10152309899679663&set=vb.98615159662&type=2&theater

I will post some pictures of the performance this weekend and maybe a video of the whole performance.

God Bless Anna Mott.

Last night was a great great night for Anna and her family.

A fundraiser was held for her by her friends in the Atlanta dance community. Anna was one of the featured performers.

Here are a few pictures:

Anna – that is her in the photograph too.

Going over the dance steps with Livvy one more time.

Lastly, here is her dance performance. You may want to get Kleenex or your shop rag handy first...

Truly inspiring. I look at Anna's photo on my fridge, and think of my son and granddaughters and how healthy they are, and then what this wonderful young woman has endured, and I am at the same time thankful for the health of my family, and in total and utter awe at the courage and tenacity of Anna Mott.

Amazing.

Simply amazing.

Anna is now involved with Rally Kids (http://rallyfoundation.org) , a charitable group that raises money for pediatric cancer research.

My September 10 #505600 post about going to the state capital was a Rally Kids effort.

One of the events this organization holds is a fashion show. Girls will walk the runway, escorted by Atlanta Falcon football players.

It will be on May 1st.

Anna is going to do it this year.

This is Anna’s page:

http://rallyfoundation.org/rally-kids-cancer-charity/our-inspiration/meet-the-rally-kids/anna-m

Anna’s partner is Corey Peters, a 6’3” 305 lb defensive end….

I think it is fair to say this guy puts away the groceries.

Lastly, here is a video of the show from last year:

I am really looking forward to this. I'm even going to wear a tie!

God Bless Anna Mott

I sometimes think about my daughter Emma and Anna.

Emma has her Senior prom this weekend. She will be graduating soon and will go away to college.

There is no Senior prom for Anna, nor will she go away to college. Cancer has robbed Anna of these and many other things, yet she maintains an unworldly positive attitude.

In one month, it will be Anna’s 18th birthday.

I am here again to ask you to consider sending a donation for this exceptional young woman.

The Britibike and Atlanta ballet community have so far given this girl, this treasure, close to $13,000 dollars.

It has been been at times a lifesaver for the Motts. It is appreciated beyond words.

I accept personal checks, money orders, cash, and paypal.

Checks are to be made out to me, David Duke. Say “Anna Mott” or somesuch on the memo portion of the check.

My home address to mail the check is:

David Duke
378 North Peachtree Street
Norcross GA 30071
USA

My paypal address is sdduke@bellsouth.net.

My cell phone number is 678 462-8884.

PM , email, call, or tell me on this forum you are in.

God Bless Anna Mott
