My brother is planning his flight back from CA. It looks like SFO airport is about 5o miles from us. Does that sound right?

That's about right. Oakland and Sacramento are options too and easier to access (traffic and general frenetic-ness) but SFO has the most flights.

Hey guys.
Marian and Thomas will be with us at this rally - so you can say hello yourself.. smile

We are staying offsite but nearby - hope to be a part of it all.
14 of us now.
Arrive LA 28th April - should make Petaluma on the 2nd May.
No BSA's I'm afraid - have requested loan bikes (6) but understand that is a big ask.
Happy to ride the bikes we have bought for our trip around North America - mostly Triumph Sprints.

Catch ya...

I'm in Sacramento and plan to attend the rally. I will be staying off site at a friends house in Dillons Beach. Is anyone willing to list me as one of their attendees for there KOA site?

Additionally, I will be bringing two BSA A65Ls, but can can only ride one at a time. I am willing to make arrangements for a loaner to someone.

Hey Rusty. I was going to try to fit a 4th bike on my trailer in case one of the three are not running but if no one claims your extra bike let me know. I won't take a chance of too much weight on my little trailer.

Rusty, if we need to, we can shuttle you to your friends house or something to get your bike to the site. I have a cabin and should have plenty of space for you to park in front of it. If there is a requirement to register bikes, we can register one or both of yours for my site.

We have room for one more name on our two campsites. They don't seem to be registering bikes except I believe I saw a limit of 6 per campsite in an email from Barry. That would seem to indicate one per person, so same for cabins? Will there be an inspection? Fall in...sound off...

My wife Ann Marie & I have a cabin - at present we will have one bike registered to our site, so there will be room for additional vehicles (2 & 4 wheel) to be registered to our site in case other sites are over full. Not really clear to me if this is necessary for folks staying off site, and probably be something that is handled day off... but mentioning here in case is of use to anyone.

Also....currently our 2 names are the only names linked to our cabin, so we can accommodate 4 more names for KOA campground/pass access passes.

There was recent communication among fellow OVBSAOC members attending, where those of us with spare slots offered up their space available to accommodate off site folks coming to the rally. As of yet we have no one claiming any of the 4 extra slots we have, so if anyone is interested, let me know, and will block out our open spaces as claimed.

My guess... there will be a lot of 11th hour/day of registration at the KOA office - match making going on to get everyone their passes. ;-)

Jim

I think there's a separate parking area for vehicles and trailers outside the tent and cabin camping areas

Wade... as Bryan & Alex indicate... think your cage & trailer will have parking lot room since you are camping on site.

Was offering space for anyone not camping...so they could park their bike amongst the rest of us unwashed BSA riding masses - or at least have a camp site to be tied to for campground entrance purposes so they can come & go from rally site as they please.

But if the KOA parking lot is full... I bet Alex can squeeze your truck & trailer in at his place for the price of a pint or 3:-)

Wade...you'll be able to park your jeep at one of our campsites. One 4 wheeled vehicle per site. Trailers (and my van) will go in the parkin lot. Unless you prefer to keep your trailer hitched. Then my van would park at the site. We'll figger it out...

I spoke to one of the BSAOCNC's organizers this weekend and want to update everyone on something we will want to pay attention to: The KOA campground is planning on charging $10 for access to folks that are not registered to a campsite. Therefore, the club is asking that folks who are camping sign up off-site folks on their campsite if they have open spots. Every camp site allows up to six registrants so if you have fewer than that, you can register an off-site attendee to your site. It cost nothing extra to do this.

So, I'll be the first to volunteer on here. Anyone staying off-site need a site to register, let me know, I'll be happy to accommodate you.

Cheers.

Alex is correct. Barry P. from the BSAOCNC mentioned at Saturday's annual All-British Clubman's Show that there were over 160 off-site people registered for the rally. So he is looking for on-site attendees to do what Alex posted.

maybe the campground is already stuffed??
Any idea how many people signed for the rally??
no idea why somebody stays offside; probably more comfort..

I think there are a lot of people that live close that aren't staying at the site. I live close but will be staying at the site for *most* of the rally (gotta work on Monday). Also I think there are just some people who don't want to camp out...notorious California weather and all (although we did have hail and lightning this morning).
