Sorry fellows, I'm running late....worked late then had dog duty, puppy duty and fire wood duty...and now I'm beat and it's dark down at the shed.

Steve....I cut that section out for somebody on the board (maybe he'll speak up about the repair) and cut it right where he wanted it. I think he had a rusted out section of frame tubing...and a lot of it. But if I remember correctly he fixed it with the donor peices.

I see at least three typs of lugs in my shop and that's only looking at 6-7 frames...and there's a lot more in the shed.

The Enduro Star (1965) has a sort of saddle....and so does the 1967 VR. Then the 68 and 70 VS frames I have in the shop have a lug that goes all the way around the tubing. I have photo's but to tell ya the truth....I'm just too beat to deal with it tonight...I'll do better tomorrow.

Tommy....I tried to get that link of your photo to work but I can't...if you'll send me a jpg of it to dad1150@aol.com I'll get it posted for you.

But it's probably something simple you're missing on the link.

Looks to me like an aftermarket "universal" replacement. With a Triumph (?) sidestand (which has the spring lug in a different location/angle than the unit singles). The spring shown is not correct for either early or later B44. The spring lug on the frame looks to be in about the right location.

If you'd like, I can try to post pictures of both types.

Right stand, correct spring, and a washer or two, I'd think it would work. Depending on the angle that the lug is welded at...

I have a stand, plenty of washers, a bolt, but, the spring is the problem. Getting it to clear the bolt head and hook to the spring lug.

Thanks for your help.

GEEZE fellers..... frown

Steve.. frown..unless I messed up (which there's a good chance I did) I sent him a correct spring.....there's just not a photo of it posted.

Okay....I was working late again and will be tomorrow too....so the hell with it. Here's a 1965...if it isn't like the 67....shoot me.

Tommy, if and when you get a chance....how about fitting up the long stand I sent you with the spring that was with it and take some photos of it...it might help figure out how to fix it.
