Well it's been awhile since I've posted about the bike. Since then, my Dad (retired) offered to "clean it up" a bit since I'm working and in school full time. He said he would do the basics to get it running. About 3 weeks later I swing by his house and on his shop table I see what looks to me like a motorcycle engine and a bunch of parts neatly lined out and categorized by the section of the bike, then I see a newly painted bike frame. Needless to say, "clean it up" might be the understatement of the century. You crazy retired guys! Ha ha!

Here is what it looked like when I purchased the bike.

We kept every single original part we could salvage. Certain parts, mostly minor, would just fall apart. Gas lines, rubber cover on gas tank, plastic intake for gas etc.
Here is a look now.

Spider Man taking Superman (she wouldn't let us say super girl!) on a Halloween cruise.

Couple weeks back he calls me and says he wished he would've done a compression check at the beginning! I think he did it on purpose to tinker on it a bit more.

Definitely a keeper photo of Spiderman & Superman(girl) on your Firebird. Be sure to make a hardcopy print so it won't become lost (as so often happens) if left in the digital form only.
BTW, I've got a couple of old BSA's that could really benefit from your Dad's definition of "clean it up a bit".....I'll send 'em over! smile

I say the picture is a good candidate for the proposed foto contest.
