I'm sure this topic has come up before but my search skills don't seem to be up to the task.
I've always though that the correct torque for 500 cylinder head bolts is 18 lb ft with 20 sometimes recommended.
I've just discovered the official workshop manual states 25 lb. ft. What is considered correct?
All advice gratefully received.

In an addendum in the 1970 iteration of the Workshop manual Triumph corrected previous Workshop manuals with:

N.B.. 18 lb. ft replaces earlier recommendations of 25 lb. ft. for 3/8 in. dia. cylinder head bolts for all unit construction 650c.c. models.

Further the concurrent 500 Workshop manual also states the head bolt torques as 18 lb. ft.
