Getting ready to install Race Tech cartridge emulators in my T140 forks, I notice that in the parts book diagrams there's a change in 1980 where the !979 and previous damper tube and valve assy. (97-4325) is broken down into the component parts - tube, valve nut, washer, etc. Are these assemblies all the same, '73-'81? Or are the '80-'81 forks different (better) in some way? Can't tell from the diagrams...
Thanks
Alan

I think that Jubeeprince has the late T140's and should be able to answer your question. Try emailing him.

ca, us
They changed the inside diameter of the stanchions at some point. May that is it. I doubt they are any better, they still used the same design.

Back on the mainland!
Appreciate the vote of confidence, Bob, but I don't know! laugh

AFAIK, Damper assembly was the same '73 - '81. I believe they did change the fork seal on the slider a bit with the addition of a circlip. That may have been in conjuntion with the change DMadigan is referencing...

I'm sure Stuart or Les could chime in here and set the record straight! help

Cheers,

Steve

I don't think there were any changes made to the later T140 damper assembly-as far as I know.

Stuart?

Hi All,

I'm not aware of any differences between either the dampers or the stanchion i.d. - e.g. the 'O'-ring and nut that respectively seal and secure the damper valve in the stanchion are the same all the way back to '71.

Nevertheless, I'm in Reg Allen's one day this week so I'll enquire.

Hth.

Regards,
