By third party Hosting they mean placing pictures from photobucket on another website, (Britbike for example) via copying the img code on photobucket and paste on the other website .
As result, most pics on older posting that were placed via Photobucket appear to have disappeared from this forum.

Well I can still access and remove all my pictures, so I will be spending the weekend doing that before closing my free account. Once thats soared I guess I should probably remove a bunch of threads I posted with pictures since they will only be taking up space. [censored] happens.

wow, wade, they're hitting you hard.

i don't know of a bulk download that will work, but if there is one i would do that and let photobucket swing in the wind.

wget will probably work, unless they've blocked that. There's a Windows version as well, if you must insist on using that

Yep. All I used for 11 years.

But, really. What happened? Did controlling interest want to sink the stock to buy out more? Obviously, no sane person/entity would do this without a reason.

Doesn't make sense.

Hmmmm, sounds like the same question for the head honchos of the British motorcycle industry of the late '60's and all of the '70's. Just WTF were/are they thinking ???

They'll rape the public, then bail. Get any photos you have only on PB onto your computer quick.

PB will be no more very soon.

Photobucket will probably be history soon with their newly adapted policy, but what I am pssed of about is that many usefull threads on this forum are now " read only", so a lot of usefull information will be practically lost.

If the pictures can be hosted somewhere else which allows links, the threads can be updated with the new URLs. It's just a matter of how much work is required.

All the pictures I had posted would take forever to repost. I'll just start over with a Lifetime membership so I can post directly (I hope)

I seriously doubt many people will pay $400 to PB, I won't, my stuff is all still on my comp and backed up on a separate hard drive.
As someone here said, google won't be happy, neither will a bunch of other search engines, it's gonna leave huge holes in the net.

i agree. i can't figure out how anybody at photobucket expects this to be taken seriously, given the vast number of alternatives.

i keep all my stuff backed up locally and in the cloud with carbonite.

and if i lose it all, it won't bother me anyway.

life is in the present, not in the past.
