My 1962 Goldie has the top lug of the side stand brazed to the frame but is missing stand itself. I am looking for a replacement and am confused on the part number. It is not illustrated in my BSA factory parts manual or BM Smith's Gold Star Book so I am unsure of the correct part number to search for. I think it is BSA 42-4765?

Can anyone confirm this number and or provide length, width of jaws over lug and send a photo? Thanks!

Some years ago while in the Birmingham area I bought a repop GS side stand assembly from C&D Autos. I notice they advertise in the UK bike magazines.

The side stand is indeed not shown in the G/S partbook, however, according to my B31/B33 partlist the part number is 42-4772.
The swing arm type B31/B33 side stand is probably identical to the one on the G/S.
Since I do not have a sidestand for my bike, I can not help you with dimentions etc.

To revisit this topic, is 42-4772 the correct length and part number for a Gold Star DBD34 side stand? I would like to order one soon.

This sidestand is what I believed was used on the late Gold Star's and A10's. It appears to be 12" from the eye of the mount to the tip of the shoe. It's body id oval in shape.

Not either one of my GS parts books show the sidestand. This is a scan of the BSA B31/B33 parts book that shows sidestand #42-4772.

This is a scan of a late A10 parts book that shows sidestand #42-4765.

I think I would go with the 42-4765.

The 60-63 A10 book shows 42-4765. The 58 book shows 42-4772. Like boomer said.

The one on this GS Looks like the 42-4765. I'd imagine either would work just fine though.

Middle East,
Incidentally, what a great looking machine- got that used and appreciated but not abused look about it..

No generalisation is wholly true, not even this one.

Thanks all, I am going with the 42-4765. I just discovered the parts numbers for the side stand components are listed in the RGS supplement in my BMS "Gold Star Book". Right under my nose all along.
