Does anyone know of a guide to identifying smiths speedo fitments from the number on the face? Thanks.

Tiger Cub, If I understand you correctly, you're trying to see what this speedo fits on what bike? I got a couple of Smith's book that tell it all. Give me your #s from the face & I'll check for you. Good Luck!

Thanks for the offer - ones I have are: 42871/3, S467/13/L, S467/91/N, S467/203/N, SC3304/11. Thanks. The link above is excellent for the magnetic speedos, but all mine are earlier ones!

Which Speedo Drive?? Many of you probably know this already, but for those who don't, this is how you decide which speedo drive to use for your speedo. Usually there will be a four digit number on the speedo face, eg 1600. If you have a 18" rear wheel use 800 (=rpm) divide 1600 by that = 2, therefore you need 2:1 ratio drive. Other common ratios are 1.25:1 (shown as 12:15) and 19:10. Juggle the figures above to decide which one you need. I hope this helps someone out. Cheers all.

I had some time to spare, so I sat down with all the Triumph parts books I could get hold of from 1946 - 1962. I now have a consolidated list of all speedos fitted to all models by year. If anyone wants to check, I will be happy to let you know what either you have or should have. Cheers.

I am looking for a Smiths chronometric 120MPH speedo for my 1957 Norton model 77. The face number would be S467/203.The same speedo was used on other nortons of the same vintage.
Thanks!
