Does anyone make a thermostat for the triumph t150 oil coolers ? I would worry about the oil struggling to get up to temp on cold days or on short hops, i have heard the triple engine can suffer from condensation.

ca, us
I do not know of anyone making a thermo-bypass for the triple but any engine will be damaged by not getting the oil hot enough to dissipate the water condensed in the crankcase after starting from cold. If you are running the engine in a cool climate you can cut pieces of plastic sheet and safety wire them across the front of the cooler. Bypass thermostats are not cheap and run a couple hundred dollars.

Ye-ea-ah ... Norman's thermostats were made by Marmite - people either loved 'em or hated 'em ... grin

Only person I know of who could offer you first-hand experience of any other thermostat goes by the name of 'Andy G' on the Triples On Line forum (use the site 'Advanced Search', select "this exact phrase" and "Member Name" to find posts by him, pick one and click on his name highlighted in blue; this gives you the option to send him a private message through the site). He's used (still uses?) a Mopar thermostat and afaik is happy with it.

Hth.

Regards,

Of course I was wrong on the price. You might have a little difficulty sealing the 1/2" stubs with 7/16" hose. They have another model with either 3/8 or 1/2 female NPT ports that is cheaper but you need adapters.
