How soon after applying clear coat should I remove masking tape?. I already screwed up one project .. left the tape on too long I think, the clear coat was dry and hard and broke away as I removed the tape!!!
Thanks for any and all help.
James.

Clearcoat should be the last stage after all taping is done- but the answer is about 15 minutes or less- just after the paint has started to 'tack'.

Masking tape sucks- should use striping tape which is expensive!
I just used electrical tape to mask off some stripes on my rims- worked great for bending and curving, and peeled off clean after about 15 min's.!
