Hope you lot will plan on stopping by on the way down. It's about 480 miles from Tom's house to Blowing Rock, which you will probably want to break up into at least 2 days on the old bikes.

Harrisburg to Spout Spring is 287 miles on the old roads, and Spout Spring to Blowing Rock is 230 miles, that wouldn't be too hard ....

OK, I admit it, I'm addicted to brake fluid.

But I can stop any time I want.

I think we ought to agree (not to say conspire) that Graham WILL have a BSA to ride (and nowt else), as we have seen that people tend to get above themselves a bit when they ride nothing but other brands. A nice steady BSA will do Graham good and give him some excellent material for articles, or maybe even a book .... !

Damnit...that reminds me I need to return Wendy's call blush

I hadn't forgotten about ya...just been real busy.

Dennis.....wish I was up there riding along with ya.....can't get myself on the bike lately...to many other things to do right now. I think I'm still suffering a little from my flat tire nightmare I had on the OSMR...thought I'd shake it off pretty easy but that's not been the case. frown

You have a SAFE and happy holiday's....your friend just down the mountain....Gordon

Gordon, you've ridden umpty-thousands of miles on motorcycles including competition...and at any point during those miles something could have happened. Bad. Almost always didn't though. Because you have developed skills. You prepare. Trust your skills. Awareness in the front of the mind...consequences in the back. Way in the back.

Gordon just get right with the man upstairs and have really good insurance. Then go ride in peace.

On the back of a motorcycle is the quietest place I know in the whole world. Wouldn't miss it for ANYTHING and neither should you!

Yepper, ladles and jellyspoons!

Since Graham has let the proverbial cat out of the bag (no offense Richrd), then I guess we can talk about it out loud. As promised, We (speaking strictly for me) WILL be bringing G (and Kev too? YEE HAW) down for the 2014 TSMR. ALL parties WILL be on BRIT IRON.
Between me and Wade, there's enough bikes for all four of us. In my mind Graham should ride Wades TT Special, and he & I can switch off on the hot-rod Norton grin .

But let's wait and see what reality brings. Worst case scenario, we trailer down (I can tote 3 Brit bikes on my trailer). As far as I am concerned, Windy, we can pop down as far in advance as our visitors' schedule will allow; if the moon shines, count on me to howl at it. bigt

And yes Lannis, I cannot imagine heading down there without a stop at Chez Selz, as you are most definitely right on the way.

Shoot, man- I might just HAVE to pop down for 2013- in the name of recon! laughing

From a military perspective, a bit of recon before sending in the main assault group is always a good idea, Tom.

Just wondering dudes, could this be a first stop on the way to California..? I been told THAT Rally is going to be held in May, now all the planets would have to be in line, but how cool would THAT be..! Without me searching for the date of this fine event early May or better late April could see me and Our Lisa there with y,all...

Just pondering..?

Not sure....do you mean Mabry Mill on the Blue Ridge Parkway???????????????

If so, the closest we get to it on the actual ride (on Saturday) is about 70 miles. If you take the Parkway from Lannis's house heading to or from Blowing Rock you'll go right by it.

If not....I haven't a clue. confused

Have a happy and SAFE new year....Gordon in NC
