Hi
I need to find a key for the steering lock on my 62 A65 THe lock is the long version for the model with the drop crown yokes (part number from part book for the lock is 68 5050) I have removed the lock fronm the top yoke but the only number I can find is a 2 digit number stamped on the bottom of the lock, is this the key number or am I missing part of it?
Thanks
Yosemite

Hi Yosemite,
Yes the two digits on the barrel are the ones you need. Add EJR in front of them for the key number.

Cheers,
Nigel

So if one could obtain the numbers how would I go about getting a key?

Maybe eBay. Once you get a blank your local locksmith should be able cut it to work.
Maybe get a new tumbler with keys already.

I'm pretty sure you would find that some of the older dealers around the place would have the odd key.

British Only and Baxters likely have an original key which has the EJR number stamped on them. Supply them with the part number. The part number is derived from the Steering Lock and Key chart at the beginning of the Spares manual. The EJR number is required to cross reference to the part number. There are 50 EJR numbers.

...Uhm,
If this helps, here in this cow-town, there is an old key shop, been here a LONG time, I've used their services from time to time, and it seems they have a supply of brit keys.

Every time I've gone there, they have the blanks to copy, and they have also made keys to fit cylinders I had no key for.

I'd have to see if they do a website, or provide mail services...
Brett

At British Only an original number stamped key is $7.09.
