71-4159 shares the part no. withthe barrel -type silencers, too. Armours are famed for silencer production: maybe they are a good source and would know ?

Have to agree, Armours pipes did not fit my B44 and they were completely unhelpful when I emailed and followed up with a phonecall.

Thanks kommando
To get back on track, John Healy, please, if you can find the time, can you advise us on why the very late 'megaphone' silencers were only fitted to TMA TSSs and why they have 2 different part no.s , one of which is shared with the previous 'barrel' silencer ?

As previously advised, information received from Brit Cycle indicates that the part number 71-7735 given by Meriden4ever references a silencer bracket (don't know for what bike.) Anyway, they have followed up and are now able to get me a set of new mufflers that have the look of the TSS megaphone mufflers but do not have the black ends - in other words they are all chrome. These mufflers are manufactured by the Italians ie Lafranconi. They indicate that they were able to do the match up based on the pictures that you provided and they go on to describe that these same mufflers were used on the Harris Triumphs. I am waiting to hear if they have a (Triumph) part number and will let you know
With this new information is it possible that the two nearly identical - one long and one short muffler represents what Pulley Bros. manufactured (I am thinking initially) and what Lafranconi manufactured (later on).

Harris Bonnies used off-the-shelf Lafraconi mufflers that were used for Guzzis because it was cheaper.
