Not too many between them. Mine was registered in Feb 1971, but I guess this is down to the luck of the draw and nothing to do with production.

I must get the history for mine from thr Science Museum.

The horns on my bike presently look like the one you pictured. (when the pictures for the book were taken I had the wrong horns on the bike. When the man that uncrated my bike tells me I have the incorrect horns I tend to listen.) The brackets had to be mounted as shown in your picture. Otherwise mirror image units would have had to be made with two different part numbers.

I think that you can get the information from the TOMCC. They will normally tell you where it was shipped to.

Thanks for the info. I sort of knew that, but had forgotten that they have that service. I'll chase it down

KADUTZ, is this like yours?

Sorry to Hijack this thread but i have been doing searches on Horns and I have a very similar horn to these that I want to fit to a 1966 BSA A65. What model of horn is it? Are they all 12 volts? Mine isn't working so are their any repair instructions on line? Can I get inside it by releasing the central nut or do all the rivets need to be extracted?
Thanks

Tbh, I wouldn't bother. Iirc, these are '71-on horns - my T150 came with a pair, one didn't work and the other emitted a sort of strangled squawk. They were made cheaply and, because they're rivetted together, not intended to be repaired. I've fitted a pair of more-correct-looking Clearhooters to my T150 but, on all my other bikes, I fit a pair of electric Fiamms - much cheaper and noisier. grin

You could talk to Taff the Horns - ime, what he doesn't know about old horns ain't worth knowing - to see if he says different.

Hth.

Regards,
