We are now shipping the new Altair ignition system for Enfield Bullet 350/500cc singles.

Replacement for standard points, condenser & mechanical advance, or upgrade for other after-market electronic ignitions.
This is a fully digital design, featuring a compact ignition module (same case as the Sure Fire systems).
As with all of our systems, the main ignition 'logic' is kept away from the high temperatures that can occur in the timing cavity.

The main benefits are:
  • Static timing is made simple, with the engine set at TDC and using the trigger on-board timing light.
  • Mapped advance curve to suit the Bullet, reaching 32 BTDC @ 3000rpm.
  • Energy efficient: active coil dwell control means low power draw, whilst still maintaining good spark energy.
  • Will run at very low supply voltages. As with other Altair system, can even be run on 6 volt electrics (with a 6 volt coil).
Note: for reliability of charging and ignition systems, we strongly recommend converting 6 volt alternator models to 12 volt electrics.
  • Can be connected for positive ground, if required.
  • Long wiring allows the module to be fitted in a choice of locations.
  • Tacho output signal wire, if you happen to have an electronic tacho fitted.
  • Works with the stock 12 volt Lucas type coil (or equivalent), 3 to 4.5 ohm primary resistance.
A new replacement coil and plug lead are available as optional extras, if required.
