Posting this for a fellow British enthusiast out of Lodi

I would appreciate any help with my stolen 1968 BSA lightning. The VIN and engine numbers are as follows: VIN A65LB3893 engine # A652690HC. License number 507950. The paint on the gas tank is red and gold there is a dent on the left side by the gas cap. The engine is not the original engine, the engine in there right now is a 1966 thunderbolt with chrome side covers and smooth chrome valve cover, the right side cover is missing also. If anyone should contact you with a BSA A65 that you suspect may be stolen please contact me with any information you can get from the seller. It's certainly not a remarkable bike, but I would love to get it back as I do have a lot of time and money in the bike.

Steve, very sorry to hear about your stolen '68 Lightning. I for one will be on the look-out, that's for sure.

Not that it's any consolation, but here in CA it's darn hard, or impossible, to get a title on a basket case or bitsa if the engine OR the frame numbers show up in the DMV system. Hopefully you had it registered or Non-Op'd.

If you don't mind talking about it, what were the circumstances? Was it in a garage? KC
