Ok,,basically I need to know if one exists that will fit a 1952 A7 plunger axle ? I changed out all of the guts I had from and old 50's hub into a mid 60's hub. The 60's axle OD was much smaller that the 52's,,was a speedo made that will fit or can I modify one ?

Isn't the speedo driven off the gearbox on the early twin?

Hi Cheyenne,

Has your bike got a "Crinkle Hub"? If so, some A50/A65 models had Crinkle Hubs with the speedo gearbox attached but I don't know if one of these would fit your setup. Maybe this is the one you've already tried.

Well don't see how that will help much as I kinda explained,,but here it is anyway.

Yes both QC hubs,,just that the 1952 has a much larger OD axle than the 60's bikes,,so that is the only real issue I was inquiring about. The axle is 7/8 OD

If I am reading this correctly what you have is a 60's hub with early 50's internals and the only reason the drive will not fit is the smaller I.D. in the drive ?If so , I'd have to agree with overandout. The only issues I might expect would be the thickness of the spacers on the drive side , you would have to turn them down to acommodate the extra thickness and maintain alignment . Does this drive need to be functional or just covering the end of the hub . Some of the offroad models had a cover to replace the drive as I recall.

Now , if I have this straight , the drive you are after needs a 7/8" hole? I'll check my stash .

If there is a cover that would be perfect,,and yes you are correct. I just want to close it up so to speak, so if there is a cover that would be great. Thanks
