Can anyone point me to a wiring diagram for a 51 golden flash.

In particular, the wiring on a repo Lucas style headlight switch.

Haynes and other info I have does not show any detail on what the click on off rocker on top of switch with a plug terminal attachment does.

That is probably because BSA did not fit this variation of the switch, to A7/10s as far as I know any way.
Power in goes to the post with the nut on it.
The next closest gets the pilot globe.
The one next to that gets the tail lamp & instruments.
The 3rd gets the feed to the dip switch.
Me thinks that rockers on the top were used with alternator bikes to switch in & out power coils prior to the zenner so it might actually be correct for a ceefer

Alex, thanks, I have 2 other diagrams here, but they were useless.

Yours works with my switch.

Trevor, the power cannot go into the nut, as , if the pilot was next around, it would be on all the time.

To simplify the diagram, seeing there is no 6 pin on the repo switch, forget 6 and 7 and just put snap connectors in place direct to headlamp filaments.

6 and 7 do nothing but join the wires together.

Trevor, I think you are right, the rocker is for alternator models.

In this diagram, why is the switch wiring shown different, even though it says swinging arm model?

The switches I have on the SA and plunger only have 3 ways, off/low/high.

In a normal 3 way switch, off is between 4 and 5, so how does the tail light/speedo work when headlight is on?

It seems, this diagram would be correct if the bridge was to 5 and not 6.

If the ball is bridging the post with the nut on it & the next terminal, then move the connections around one place.
The set up is still the same, pilot + tail & instruments ( no head lamp ) then tail & instruments + headlamp ( no pilot ).

If you want to do away with the dip switch & don't mind having the pilot lamp on with the head lamp you can join the instruments, pilot & tail lamp all together on one post, put the low beam on the post before it & the high beam on the post after it

If the next post to nut is skipped, then the pilot light will be on both low and high.
