Once upon a time, more than three decades ago, I had a chance at a 61 C.I. hardley ableson knucklehead, in a '68 swing tail frame, for $1100.
Pretty engine, in a ridable frame.
D'ya think I could find the money? get a loan? borrow it from someone???

Not a chance. No way, no how. It was an OLD, ANCIENT, worthless motorcycle.

It's OK though, I spend my spare cash on BSA's and other "junk"....

35 years ago I was within $100 of owning a red on white 57 Corvette with a hard/soft top. I wanted $100 off the price or some new mufflers. I got subborn and passed and bought a friggin Mustang. The price of the Corvette was $1200. Holy Christmas, talk about messing up...and I had the dough or could have financed.

Oh, now 'vette stories?

Why're you antagonizing old bad memories????

About a year or so after the knuckle, I was made aware of a PAIR of '54 'vettes, supposedly between the two of 'em, one wholly original one could be made, and the other into anything else, or sold. $7k. Again, no finances available.... DRAT!

Ok I have decided to use the BSA section as there are going to be a few tech questions, so I have started a thread there...

Good on yer Kev. This pub is reserved for praising the virtues of Britbikes - including down to even the humble LE Velo. Sorry Janet grin and slamming Hardley-Ablesons, Kwackers and their likes! grin

Kevin,
great news bro.
hope you don't get discouraged with this one like you did your last BSA, tho i guess you finally had it with whatever bodges had been done to that last bike, none of which has likely been done to this one!

great score. :bigt
