Well guys... Thanks for the encourangment..!!

I think I got it... I am not 100% sure, which is scarey.. I was having an oil circulation issue.. and I think it was the gaskset.. I put in a genuine BSA gasket (and a different pump for grins) and all seems good.. The darn thing was working fine when I checked it after initial start up. So now, I triple checked it... Just still scarey.. I would of blown it up big time if I would of gone to the dyno after I made my first check..

So, the bike is on the trailer with a bunch of others... never got to the dyno, so my timing and jetting are just as it was... which means the timing is likely correct, and the jetting is likely too rich.. As long as the oiling is OK, I can easily deal with the jetting..!!!

See you all in Daytona..!!!

Cheers..!!

Ron

Hey guys. I am racing the enduros in SC on Sunday and the Alligator on Thursday, but I'll be around down there trolling around on my T Bolt. Hope to meet some of you guys and learn more about BSA's and racing them.

Hi Mike,

Hope to make it to Carter Del Sol about mid-day Saturday (decided to skip Roeblin Road).

Bike is ready this time including all the safety wiring etc that you and your brother Dave so kindly helped me with last year while I was enjoying myself at the banquet. whistle Going to skip the banquest as well this year so you'll be lumbered with me Saturday evening! grin

Looking forward to it bigt

Well, there was a glimmer of hope that I would make Daytona. My trip to Brazil was cancelled today, been expecting that for several weeks. But RT can't make it, I don't feel like the drive by myself.....

So have fun boys & girls

Mikey - Tony and I are planning to crash at your place Sat night after the awards banquet if that's cool.

My bike fired up last night. Buttoning up things tonight and starting to pack the trailer.

Tony's in mad-scramble mode - not sure if his bike will be coming with, but he'll be in the truck with me for sure.

We're doing Roebling, watching dirt track Friday night, then making our way down to FLA on Saturday.

Great, AHRMA seems to be up to it's old tricks. Wouldn't that be great drive 11 hours down there and find there is no event.

I'm loosing faith..........

Alan...I see you're on the board this morning confused Does that mean you didn't go to Florida??? or are you on your lap top, sitting under one of those live oaks and kicking your feet in the sand???

I got a call from some of the Ton up NC fellows. Every body finished with all bikes still running, even if they had lost a few bits here and there.

From the sound of it they all did well and had fun in their Cross Country race and if I heard it correctly...Sir Alex finished 4th...on a BSA 250 trials bike. bigt

Hope they have some pictures to share....and a yarn or two.

They get a big ATA BOYS
from me and bigt bigt bigt a wip and a snap

Way to go fellows.....have a safe trip home...your friend in NC, USA Gordon Gray

Gordon,

Stayed in NC. It wasn't until Thur or Fri of last week that they finally found a Trials Master to run the Trial. By that time I could not get the time off work.

I get so excited about AHRMA and then they continue to let me down. How can you plan a season and not know if you are even going to be able to put on an event you have listed. Now it's probably not worth going to their other events as I can't get enough points to count for the year. They have one in WV this year which is close and I may go to TTC just because I've never been there.

I'll probably just ride CVOTC and METROLINA this year.

I've got a spare bike or two if you want to ride one????????

Alan

Gordon, Saw Alex today at Daytona race track He indeed finished fourth on the 250 and said he had a wail of a time..Got to see Chuck and Tony as they stayed at the house but they only came to go to the awards deal..They did well. Also ran into Malcolm in the pits and he was running third in his race but I can't remember if it ended that way as I got sidetracked with a few friends that showed on last lap.. I don't think I have ever seen a better race than the one between Tim Joyce and Pat Mooney today in premier class, Tim came out on top with a last lap pass at the stripe man it was back and forth the whole race. Did not get a chance to speak with Tim as he was racing in about every race there. Weather was perfect and racing was superb. May not make it to the track tomorrow .. Seeya

Alan....it is sad. I remember having the best times I've ever had on a motorcycle at AHRMA events. I don't blame the same people others do for what happened to AHRMA. I have my own opinion.

Keep your fingers crossed, it could all work out.

Brother, I just might take you up on a borrowed ride...gota get in shape though...it's been awhile.

Take care...keep your feet up....Gordon Gray in NC, USA

Just got home this morning...had a great time but unfortunately had to spend a lot of time working, too.

The B25 performed flawlessly, a testament to Gordon't skill as a builder (he put it together, for those of you that don't know) even though I "cross-trained" it a little. I, on the other hand can't say I did so well getting lost, falling down a couple of times (soft landings) and not even riding the last lap due to my ignorance of the rules blush . Still, I had a great time and can't wait to do it again.

The course was beautifully laid out and even though the day started at a frigid 25F, the sunshine quickly warmed it to an ideal 55 by afternoon. I spent the morning scoring trials (sorry you missed it Alan, and I kindof am, too) then stuck a smaller sprocket on the bike and had a blast. I look forward to getting better at this and now that I've decided I like it will be looking to build a dedicated CC bike for the long term.

Mike, great to see you and Dave and sorry I couldn't hang out on Sunday...I really missed that. Definitely next time.

Cheers.

Congrats to ALL you fellows that competed....glad you had fun and glad you made it back safe and sound.

Alex....guess it's time for you to build a REAL BSA CC bike.....AND maybe give trials a try. AHRMA Trials competition was the most fun I've ever had on a bike. No real danger of getting hurt but plenty of competition just the same. bigt

I'll have to admit....I don't like that "I'm just out here to have fun" stuff....you can do that on any sunday. I went out to win, figured I owed it to the fellows that were trying to beat me. That doesn't mean it can't be fun...and I was always a good loser, and had a good time...But I didn't like losing, and always gave it all I had no matter what kind of competition I was in....maybe that's why they call it...competition. wink

Congrats to all again and I can't wait to hear more yarns and see some MORE pictures????

Your friend in NC, USA Gordon Gray
