Here is the schematic from my Clymer hand book. Just this past winter I used it while restoring my bike and it matched perfectly to the factory wiring.

Of course, GABMA has one.

What is it you're trying to discern?

JP is correct, except that I would say that Brn/Blu is power from the battery which is not controlled by the ignition switch. In other words it's always ON. Your terminal probably connects to the rectifier DC output. The charging system is never disconnected, since stopping the engine in effect turns it OFF.

PS. A 1972 should have 2 harnesses: 1 front, 1 back.

bigt

Thats not counting the head light harness and the breaker point harness(these both connect to the main harness under the gas tank). smile

In the schematic the little rectanle blocks that the wires go to are Lucas female bullet connectors. If multiple blocks are touching then it is a single connector block made for multiple wires. For example, the one for the rear harness is an isolated 4-in/4-out connector.
