Engine is a "69 T100R parts basket missing its barrels and tappet blocks. I have new old stock barrel w/o tappet blocks,and also the tappets from the original engine. I will be buying new blocks- is it possible to re-use the old tappets? New ones are expensive, reground are less so, but if the old ones will work OK that would be good. Obviously, they are not going to go back into the bores they came out of and the flanges are not likely to be exactly the same tolerance either.Then,what about the cams and cam/tappet wear in the future? Is it necessary to replace everything here (cams, tappets, and blocks ) to avoid early failure? What to do here? Thanks in advance for the help, Alan T100R

I have read that the factory race bikes in '66&'67 used tappets ground to 3" radius. I am thinking that the larger radius eased the stress on the cams and tappets. Are these available? Anyone knowledgeable care to comment on why this was done? Thanks, Alan T100R
