Spider has watched with amusement as poor old Shaun passes the Brit bike bug onto Our Lisa. Soon that little 125cc bike will seem too small for her and she will cast lustful eyes on bigger, meatier machines. In fact the die is cast cos she has already sampled the joys of riding Shaun’s M21 at the Rabbit Rally (even though she dropped it!). Watch out Shaun, when she’s gone through your M21 and your A10 it’ll be the M33 combination next. Shaun’s crafty plan to only let Lisa have the M21 IF she can start it is doomed to failure cos a mere 600cc side-valve engine presents no challenge for a black belt Karate guru! She’ll probably start it with her teeth!
Grandad, when our Lisa hits the big time on some London stage, she'll remember her old Dad, and I'll have me a nice Panther outfit waiting outside all gift wrapped. Then we'll see who has the last laugh
Good job all yours have their own bikes otherwise that might be you!!
Paul, Don't joke about it - who d'ya think is riding around on my lovely Speedtwin nowadays after persuading his dear old dad that he was now too weak and decrepit to handle it (Just because I fell off it a couple of times!!). Now I'm riding around on a couple of 350 cc jobs!!
Grandad lad, at the risk of a certain person pulling me to bits over my BSA's being in bits, I'll tell you that one of them 350cc jobbies will soon be ridden by that very same bloke of which ye speak
Seems his 'Reliable' never breakdown Triumphs, are BOTH off the road, and he'll be wanting a loan bike to Bimble with, now I'll sit back and wait for the "well I've taken Daisy over 200,000 miles" rubbish I have to endure on the blower Course he 'forgets' that when I got me A10 I never knew how to change a spark plug, so it's a wonder I did over 100,000 on it in the first place. But then I suppose once he starts it's best to let him carry on, isn't it lad
Hah, Shaun, Graham won't get his hands on my Matchless cos, believe it or not, I managed to persuade Nan to ride pillion on it this afternoon while we rode down to the sea. She actually ENJOYED it and has hinted at further sorties. NOW my other bike (the Triumph Tiger 90) has very unforgiving suspension and seems to make a big deal out of the smallest pothole so Nan won't ride pillion - So you see she will help me give him a bum's rush if he tries to grab the Matchie!!
Hey PJ, You seem to be taking forever over fettling your Tiger90. Tell me, is it's suspension unforgiving like mine. Don't get me wrong, its a super little run-around BUT mine is not a comfortable ride. Perhaps our district council just doesn't look after the roads properly around here, but I have noticed that my Matchless G3 gives a much smoother ride!!
