Hi. Have an opportunity to purchase a Norton 500T (1953). I have no experience with this bike. Anybody have experience and comments or suggestions on what to look for. The one I'm considering is nice shape. What might they be worth? Any comments are welcome. Thanks - Gord

I don't know what value you would place on a 500T but if you have a chance to buy one. leap at it. I had a 500T motor in a featherbed. I shoud be flogged as it had a hi-comp piston, some radical cams and it was on alky. Great motor. Took all my abuse in its stride. I also bought the bones of a '49 500T but never got to restore it. I sold it to a friend who did a wonderful resto on it. An ES2 with an alloy barrel and head.

God rides a Triumph but wishes it was a Norton.

Gord....did you get it? The closest thing I've ever had to a 500T was a 46 ES2 hillclimber complete with girder forks.....If you do buy it I would like the opportunity to see and maybe even touch it. Let us know. Wilf.
