so visiting the folks for the holidays, I found an old motorcycle helmet in the shop.

it's an AMA class II Romer-Helm? it's got to be quite old, as it has no styrofoam! what might the vintage on this be? it has leather on the front rim, three snaps for a visor, straps inside for "padding" and leather earflaps with a buckle.

would this be something worth having restored? is it just a show piece? maybe a cafe racer seat form? wink

thanks for any info, and Happy Holidaze!!

Makes me wonder what has Blapper been doing? grin

Blessed are the curious for they shall have adventures

It's not the destination, it's the journey.

I have a Romer Helm puddin' basin that I bought new in the mid 50s. It has small reflectors set about the rim but no snaps for a face shield. It is a little worse for age but still buckles up & I sometimes wear it to show off. I had a similar one before but a Chevvy ran a light in front of my R60 & my head slammed into something putting a crease in the top. I was doing about 50 & both vehicles were totaled but the only damage to me, other than abrasions, was a chipped bone in my shoulder. I am no more dingy than before. (?=->)
Cheers, Don.

Hey Don! I guess that has yet to be seen, eh? :-p
that old 54 mag is still sparking great, btw! thanks again!

this helm I found is way beyond use, but as a piece of history it's pretty cool. nowhere near the condition of that one Bryan found! the leather is ripped on the back, and the rubber is hard. but it is the exact same thing as the one linked above

the old man thought it was their's from the late 60's, but as we found some old slides of his T120 we realized it wasn't, but he had no idea where it came from after that.
