I've discovered a couple cracked aluminum aftermarket cylinders for Norton twins. The crack occurs between the bores when the sleeves are pressed in. The material is very thin there and you can only see the crack at the bottom or if the liners are removed. The crack runs from top to bottom. Has any one else noticed this and what brand cylinders are cracking? Anyone notice overheating or smoking?

thanks

Jim

Jim, I've seen some advertised in the past that have pointed out the cracks; don't know what brand.
The old Morgo iron Triumph cylinder would crack if you tried to put two liners in the block. One was OK; two would split the thing up the middle!
Sounds like something I wouldn't want to risk the bank on!
