yeah seriously, i love it. i hope you decided to leave it, thats pretty tough looking. heres mine. it has a little over 5000 miles, every original part including the tires and hasnt been ridden since 1981... the pictures look way worse than it really is, its mostly just dust. all the crome is pitted and rusty but everything else just needs a cleaning and tuning. i am still paying it off, but as soon as i have oil to heat my house i will pay off the 300 i still owe.. I originally planned on chopping it but since grew a conscious and now i am going to restore it to new condition, sell it and buy a bike already chopped or something less special and cool as this. the tank isnt sealed and it still has the original ignition and all that.. should i seal the tank and get a Boyer, or try to get it running good bone stock with new chrome? that would be kinda cool but not practical to ride i think....

Here's my '66 Tbolt I've had for about a year. Just got the tank and covers painted.

Incidently, I found out the hard way that Emgo mufflers will not work on these pipes - they have different internals than stock mufflers that prevent the pipes from going in far enough for the mounts to line up. Anybody got 1 real BSA A65 muffler in great shape for sale???

Valk, I hate to be picky, but that's a '67 all the way - '67 tank, finned rocker cover, inspection cover over the alternator, alu backing plate on the rear wheel, and I'll bet the serial number starts with A65TA. Doesn't matter, except when it comes time to order a Spares manual. BTW, that's a gorgeous bike!

'65(lower)/'66(upper, wheels, front end, controls)/'67(seat, exhaust, fuel tank, headlamp)/'70(frame) A65 Bitsa.

Hi Mark,
Hmm - you got me thinking. The tank I bought off eBay, so you're right regarding it being a '67. I also replaced the smooth valve cover with a finned one 'cause I think it looks cooler. Don't know about the inspection cover or alum backing plate. I do know that this bike was kinda thrown together at one point, so these items may indeed be '67. The engine number starts with just A65T, not A65TA, and the frame numbers are very difficult to read. So I think we're both right - it's probably a '66 with a lot of '67 parts.

Also has pre-'65 forks on her, I added a tach, new front fender and chrome chain guard, and painted the forks/frame.

Thanks for the compliment - I've spent a great deal of time fixing this baby up, and I think I've finally got a solid, reliable road-worthy machine (after stranding me no less than 3 times for 3 different reasons).

OK ......I think I figured out how to post a picture..... (finally)

This is my 1970 Royal Star. This picture was from a few years ago. I since added a '67 gas tank and a chrome front fender. Over the winter I will add a different gas tank and a new carb and freshen the paint! It has been a good bike and will continue being that!
