Nice to finally get to see your Bonnie.
Looks great. Lets hope it runs as good as it looks when you get it out.
Personal opinion, but I like em better without the knee pads.

...............i don't think this bonne wants to leave the confines of a nice newly painted garage to rest in. Sure has given me the grief..........right here at the last stages. But i like it still, so it stays.

Nice job. Your zener diode heat sink is mounted upside down. It will dent your fender when the forks bottom out. You should make sure the bracket is correct part number 97-4262. That bracket is a update from the one in the 1970 book.

Made the same mistake retro fitting zener to 1978 T140. Drilled and tapped to fit under bottom yoke. Will that bracket work?
That bike is so beautiful, i would be pi$$ed to dent it if it were mine.

I know these pics aren't great. But can you guys tell if this is how the zener mounts, or is it wrong in any way.It does tip down just a smidgen when viewing from the side.

You got it right side up, now.

I've got a ding in one of my fenders. 1 out of 12 ain't bad...

Well GER-------------That is a good question , as so far the bsa is the bike to have!!!I tried kicking thisb****, today with my good leg..................all i get is a sputter,I think i'm going to give up and take it to a fellow who knows these things inside and out,Anyway thats what they tell me. If i don't ger , i'll be in a wheel chair, And then i won't be able to ride the bsa either.
I know its close, but I really don't know what else to do from here, its a beautiful bike, and its solid.

I know you like bsa`s, but my money is wound up in this old dog.It was a one kicker at one time , maybe this guy can make it that way again, so we don't have a funeral for a street rodder. help help

A friend of mine is restoring a Bonneville with an electric starter motor, Bob. One of just a few in this country, as far as I know. At least the only one I ever saw.
I don't know how many (or how few) were built, but maybe you should try to find one over there.

Ger........thanks for the reply. It must be newer than a 7o? I proably in all honesty, will get them both running good. as i had that darn triumph running; right after my last post to you, ........believe that???Back to my train of thought, i will most likely wind up with an electric start , something or rather, so my wife doesn't have to listen to me moan; as i raise my fork at the dinner table. All kidding aside; if both of these would start[and they probably will]as easy as that bsa, they wouldn't have to fear loseing their home.
I don't want a honda, a yamaha, a victory, a susuki, whats left?
CAN'T SAY IT IT MIGHT MAKE SOMEBODY MAD OR SICK, theres a guy who works on H.D. 3 miles from me and he says he can fix it,
hes also trying to get me into them , he builds those huge "big bear choppers", not very often, but he does sell them . Man those things take a man twice my size, and i'm 6'
to turn em around
anyway have a good day ger, til next time

Well she went out and down the road here today, She runs out pretty good quik.....with 2 carbs.
The only thing haunting her now, is she shifts good thru the gears, but it has a bad slip where the bike is trying to catch up with the motor when you go thru the gears..
i'll go start reading thru my clutch threads and see what i can pick up.
the vent is pouring out a rusty colored oil based , liquid from somewhere.maybe coming off the chain. [older chain].
all in all it isn't the fun........ to ride that the bsa is, -----------but that may change.
bob s smile
I will say this; theres a lot of different rideing characteristics between the two bikes.
