Just for laughs, and to force me to get my own done, I am going to try to post a new decal reproduction each week.
I invite constructive criticism, the idea is to make them as accurate as possible. Forget about colour, everybody's monitor is different (unless you have a Mac  )
If anybody want's a scaleable version (AI) or one they can print on a (TM) Gerber Edge at your local sign shop then I will try to post links to the files.
I will consider requests, posted to the forum, not by email. I will not print anything and mail it to you. Your money's no good here.

Hey Gunk,
Great idea! I know you mentioned your abilities under the "Calling all A65s in the GTA" thread, and this one looks great.
Check out my thread under the BSA board called "Anyone seen this decal". I can find any supplier who carries the side cover decal for my Firebird. Is that something you could tackle. Glad to pay you for your efforts, and I will find some transfer material and get it printed.

This is something I like and as admin of this site I would be happy to create a page with links to these AI files.

Could even create a Decal Bulletin Board for the subject if interest exists.

Cheers clap

BSAing you

I'm into it. I have a whack of web space, well enough for a few ai files.
I wonder what the admins are gonna say when I get 5000 hits a month?

You know Morgan, there is a TON of stuff we could post about reproducing decals from scanning/photographing to preparing a file for web pages to printing or screen printing even.
But it goes farther than that. Like everything.
What about a page on painting/finishing/decaling?
You know, there are a ton of resources out there but if you Google "decal" you might never find the right name for decal which is "decalcomania"... opens up a whole new world, just like when you know all the right names for the parts of your motor.

I've seen a lot of minor variations but nothing really "different" in any substantial way.
Can you direct me to a photo?

Not that I'm partial to BSA's or this decal but I might take yours to the ink man for a touch up from the years of fading.

I'm flattered.
Indeed, I've designed another artwork "a la peau"

And... I have seen this version.
My interpretation is that the "cycle" version refers to the bicyle works.
However it is very interesting, as it bridges rifles, bicycles, and motorbike traditions.
If BSA had made typewriters there would be a design nightmare.

I would like a gunkpic of the cycles one.

That was the correct sticker for motorcycles before 53.

Great work. Now here's a challenge...
Can you produce/design a graphic for a BSA Cyclone as I dont believe they ever put one one a bike. I've thought it would be great to have one on the tank top much like the Royal Star etc... Perhaps a Cyclone weather map sign.(BBC of course)as a start... or something completely original

Am I crazy?

Wow Gunk, Your'e the man!!
I like the style, I'd love to have that on a T Shirt, ah well if BSA had computer generated graphic capabilities, they would have loved you.

Sincerely,

Gav.
