I`ve been surfing around the net to find nice pics of bsa`s and other bikes and thought it would be cool if you guys would post pics of your bikes here.
I personally enjoy rigid frame bobbers, but nice original resto`s is always encouraging to see too ! Especially during the winter with snow and all. (yeah it`s really cold up here now...)And old racing machines tooo oh yes :-)
Rocker; This is neither a bobber nor a rigid but a good dependable year round rider.
I bought this 1965 A65 T/R in 1970 in Oklahoma. Even though it was only 5 years old it was a running junker with rusty high pipes and no fenders or mufflers. Strangely it had a brush painted fuel tank. Of course in those days there was a local BSA dealer so it was easy to get pipes, mufflers and the bearings, valves and rings to freshen up the engine. The same dealer painted the tank and side covers. It became my daily transport to work.
Over the years I have had it in various configurations including a few years as a hillclimb machine and the 37 year old paint job is starting to show it's age.
About ten years ago I decided to update the things that really annoyed me so I converted it to 12 volts, Boyer, Tympanium, halogen headlamp, rod damper forks and 7 inch TLS. It came with 18 inch wheels so the small TLS was the easy fit. Easy if you ignore the need for new fork sliders and regrooving of the spindle to match the cap bolts locations.
You can easily spot things wrong for 1965 but the missing bits are things I do not need and the added bits are the ones I like. I do not claim originality; after all it is a rider.
Without frequent roadside repairs there is no fun in riding!

This is my '66 A65 'special' (seems the word bobber causes some consternation here sometimes)
I bought the engine and bare frame in late '05, and built the engine first, in my garage. It's stock w/ .020 over pistons, and a cast iron oil pump body from EV engineering. New bearings (Timing side main was at .003, so it went back in.)
The fork is a late Sportster, shortened 2". Rear wheel is H-D as well as brakes and levers. The rear brake linkage I designed and had fabbed by a friend who is a prof welder and drag car fabricator. He built the oil tank as well and welded the rear section.
The fuel tank is a '69, and when I got it had been beaten with a hammer and shot with a small calber gun (talk about a bad day with your BSA...), you can stick your finger in the filler and still feel the inside of the gunshot hole. The battery box is aluminum diamond plate. I wired and painted it in my garage.

This is my 2nd 70 Victor, first one took me back and forth to high school and thru the woods and fields, had this one about 6 months now....was in rough shape, did all the paint, lots of mechanical stuff to sort out - electrics, etc. lots and lots of NOS parts, still a few more to go. The previous owner wrecked his leg trying to kick it over for almost 2 years, he only put 7 miles on it in the time he had it. When the top end was rebuilt awhile back for some reason or another, the valve lifter was left off....well its back on now and I can start it with my left arm (from cold, 2nd kick). Can't wait till Spring.

There sure are some good looking BSAs, dogsrockets looks very mechanical, LJ's M21 very cool. Rocker, it might be cold there but its not here it's definite go to the beach and get wet weather. It's hard to imagine if you jumped in a plane and got out near here you'd just want shorts and a 'T' shirt, and you'd probably be heading for the surf to cool down. Everyone will be getting sick of seeing my BSA on here, but this is it with some different pipes, so at least I change it now and then.
A week or so back sizing up the new tank prior to sectioning, same as '92 except for dash, somewhat road grimed/patched wiring and the fact it runs far better. Slow learner but got it dialed I think and time for the next "level". It is in for 2 months for annual overhaul and clean up, when getting to work on it is purpose the cosmetics come second but it leaves very few spots behind. Averaging 7-8000 city traffic rain or shine weather last few years. BMW gaitors modified this year as well. Tank is now about 4.5 gallons 14L? and will be yellow with polished steel knee areas clearcoated. S britgaskets.ca

With posting photos, if you are using photobucket, simply copy the 'IMG Code for Forums and bulletin boards' bar near the image and paste it in this window, and the photo will be open in your post, to see if it works and the image is not too big select preview post, (if the image is too big it will expand the view area of the post and we'll have to scroll across to read and look at it which is inconvienient).
