Well, I for one have never met a nicer group of people, set eyes on a more eclectic assemblage of British Iron, seen better riding (for what that is worth) or nicer people than the citizens of Boone and Blowing Rock, North Carolina. I had a great time and great conversations with all. God willing and the creek don't rise; to qoute the Governer of Califoria... "I'll be back!"

Windy -

I thought maybe you were headed back to close the deal on buying the motel....either the one next door or the Blowing Rock Inn! The innkeeper sounded almost like he'd like to sell, especially at the price his neighbor was asking.

I'm sort of the same way - I might head back there this summer with the missus, not because it's the kind of place we usually go but because it's got good memories associated with it....

Lannis

I stopped believing for a little while this morning. Journey is really going to be upset.

Heaven forbid owining a motel. that is WAY to much work and would interfear with motorcycle riding laugh . besides at the prices for property there I dont know anybody that could afford it much less make a profit over the payment unless you put a LARGE down stroke on it. it was a weekend to remember for sure and I hope that next year will be better but I dont how that could happen unless there are more Nortons :p . hope to see you there again.

Windy...if your going to be in Elizabethton and you want to ride Hwy 421 again...(stay clear of Hwy 91..it's too straight and flat). Go up to Bristol and get on Hwy 421 there.( check your map) There are two (2) of those lovely twisty sections on that part of Hwy 421 and our Three State Ride only goes over one. If you go from Bristol, TN to Mtn City, TN you'll do both of them. You'll have to do a little back tracking to get to the "Ridge" it's on Hwy 133 just outside of Damascus. But as you already know...it's worth it.

I needed some "seat" time on the Norton so I got up at 5:30 this morning and rode to Bristol and back....absolutely wonderful. clap

Take care....keep in touch. Gordon in NC
