Red hair and black leather, my favorite color scheme. But then again so is black hair and red leather and blonde hair and any color leather.

Anything by Skunkweed. Or maybe some Sepultura, Slayer, Mudvayne, or Deftones.

"Thumbelina" by the Pretenders from "Learning to crawl". But then again I ride a BSA. Cheers,Bob

Hush little baby, don’t you cry
When we get to tucson you’ll see why
We left the snowstorms and the thunder and rain
For the desert sun, we’re gonna be born again
What’s important in this world
A little boy, a little girl

Hush little darling, go to sleep
Look out the window and count the sheep
That dot the hillsides and the fields of wheat
Across america as we cross america
What’s important here today
The broken line on the highway

All the love in the world for you, girl
Thumbelina in a great big scary world
All the love in the world for you, girl
Take my hand and we’ll make it through this world

Hush little baby, my poor little thing
You’ve been shuffled about like a pawned wedding ring
It must seem strange, love was here then gone
And the oklahoma sunrise becomes the amarillo dawn
What’s important in this life
Ask the man who’s lost his wife

Thanks M4E , it's years since I saw "Fast Lady " it was built by a mate of mine , named Bob Tyrrell from the Richmond Surrey area in the early seventies , last I heard he now lives near St. Tropez , boy did seeing that bike bring a blast of memories from my teenage period back . Johnny .

Ok I got to ask, has anyone ever listened to music while riding a bike? Seems to me it would be a PITA (I mean ear).....kinda like listening to 2 songs at the same time in the same room....

Try & find Pete Allen's song, '1963 Bonneville' (Press-Tige Music)-pretty good

Triumphs on album covers ?

Prefab Sprout's 'Steve McQueen' & Arlo Guthrie's 'Running Down The Road' come to mind - any others ? clap

Hey,

Richard Thompson's "Vincent Black Lightning 1952" Yes I know a Vincent's not a Triumph, but the feeling's the same"

Lyrics:

Vincent Black Lightning 1952

by Richard Thompson

Said Red Molly to James that's a fine motorbike
A girl could feel special on any such like
Said James to Red Molly, well my hat's off to you
It's a Vincent Black Lightning, 1952
And I've seen you at the corners and cafes it seems
Red hair and black leather, my favorite color scheme
And he pulled her on behind
And down to Box Hill they did ride

/ A - - - D - / - - - - A - / : / E - D A /
/ E - D A - / Bm - D - / - - - - A - - - /

Said James to Red Molly, here's a ring for your right hand
But I'll tell you in earnest I'm a dangerous man
I've fought with the law since I was seventeen
I robbed many a man to get my Vincent machine
Now I'm 21 years, I might make 22
And I don't mind dying, but for the love of you
And if fate should break my stride
Then I'll give you my Vincent to ride

Come down, come down, Red Molly, called Sergeant McRae
For they've taken young James Adie for armed robbery
Shotgun blast hit his chest, left nothing inside
Oh, come down, Red Molly to his dying bedside
When she came to the hospital, there wasn't much left
He was running out of road, he was running out of breath
But he smiled to see her cry
And said I'll give you my Vincent to ride

Says James, in my opinion, there's nothing in this world
Beats a 52 Vincent and a red headed girl
Now Nortons and Indians and Greeveses won't do
They don't have a soul like a Vincent 52
He reached for her hand and he slipped her the keys
He said I've got no further use for these
I see angels on Ariels in leather and chrome
Swooping down from heaven to carry me home
And he gave her one last kiss and died
And he gave her his Vincent to ride

_________

Says it all...

Pete

James Dean by The Eagles , anyone ?

On the subject of songs about Triumph riders, I noted Sheryl Crowe wore a T-shirt with a Meriden Triumph logo in her video for her song, 'Steve McQueen', although the bike she was riding wasn't one Meriden ever saw ...

Aside from instrumentals, can you really listen to music while riding a motorcyle....especialy a nice tuned Triumph????

I think that the best sound is what is coming from the exhaust pipes...that's the music I want to hear....and in tune at that bigt

Music really only applies when watching a movie...and the cool guys are riding to a cool tune bigt

Problem solved ! The Stranglers' Jean Jacques Burnel's song Triumph In The City (from his album Euroman Cometh) features the exhaust note of his revving T140 ! Yes really ! laughing
