Does anyone have the torque settings for the 3/8 cylinder head bolts on a 3TA engine please.

Try this on for size......

Triumph Workshop manual, #99-0843

Unit Construction 350 and 500 Twins:
T100SS Tiger 100
T100T Daytona Tiger 100
T90 Tiger 90
5TA Speed Twin
3TA Twenty One

Under General Data for 3TA no torque listings.
At the beginning of 3TA specs, says "For data not given here refer to General Data Model 5TA."

Under General Data for 5TA no torque listings.
At the beginning of 5TA specs, says "For data not given here refer to General Data Model T100."

Under General Data for T100T and T100R "Daytona" no torque listings. At the beginning of the T100T & T100R specs, says "For data not given here refer to General Data Model T100S."

You starting to see a pattern here...... :rolleyes:

Under T100S, eureka!! Torque settings!

Drum roll..........

Cylinder Head Bolts (3/8 in. dia.) 18 lb./ft.

With cycle thread bolts @ 26tpi, must be heck of a clamping action. Maybe one day I'll work it out. beerchug
