I have the stainless rear fender but there is no hole next to the "lifting handle" clip where you would normally run the tail light wires through. I do see a hole near the front left but that seems out of place for the rear tail light wiring. Is this the wrong fender?

Wally, If it's the bike you are painting the '70 TR6C tank for, I think I still have the original rear fender from mine in the shed. It was cracked, in several places, but I kept it for the "Blue Print" value. Honestly, that is always a waste of effeort for me anyhow. I always end up making mount holes where ever they work out best!
(BTW, ..... A unibit is great for holes in fender sheet metal). I'll try to swing by the shed today and take a look. Do you have the neat wire guard that fits under the fender for the T-Lite wire?

Wally, here's the Old original '70 TR6C rear fender I took off. I believe it to be from the factory, and well used! Took photos from the T-Lite end up to the front. I believe the area you are interested in has the Rusty hoop mark showing, the 2 "saddle clamp" holes and the hole for the wires. Also took some of that wire guard I mentioned, as it dictates where the hole must be. Also the breather tube clamp holes. Hope these help. KC

If you feel like helping out Morgan keep the site going, you can add yourself to the private sponsor list. It's not a ton of money, and I feel like I get more enjoyment out of this forum than paying for a few movies at the threater. One nice benefit included is you can then load photos to your forum post directly from your computer. Just drag them into the box provided! In my opinion, that's a big deal as far as less headache and more interesting posts. Glad you asked!

The pictures you show are correct for 67. The under guard cable guide KC shows was introduced in 68.

I’m sorry I didn’t see the private sponsor thing.

AHHhhhh yes, THE iPad thing !!!! I have ranted about that problem myself a few times,....... But no fix in sight. It's a real conumdrum, and PITA !! I have to fire up the desktop PC when I want to post photos. You are correct.
If there is a Techy guy on this site that knows ow to resize and post from the iPad I'd sure like to be informed. Thanks for pointing that out. I'm using iPad now....

KC,
One possible solution would be to email yourself the picture, and adjust the size of the pic when you send it.
Regards,
Adam

AML: I make a print-out of the picture on the website, or take a picture of it with my camera, then
use a calculator to "scale it up." Then I take the photo and the figure calculated to scale it up in size to the local library, enter the scale percentage figure into the copy machine, and print out the "full-sized" picture.

From this I can get an accurate dimension, or simplly trace the picture or, even easier, "GLUE" the picture to the part in question to know where to drill the holes.

KC - thanks for the pics. Not sure where my fender came from but it does not have the hole for the TL wiring or for the breather tube. It mounted fine so it fit some year. This bike is such a collection of pieces I am guessing PO just used whatever he had.

I also have the wiring piece for the TL.

Wally, you are comparing apples with oranges. You asked about tail lamp wiring for a 67, why are you comparing it to a 70 on which the tail lamp wiring and breather tube were routed completely different?

Speaking of the breather tube, I did not see it in any of the pics I had of a 70 TR6C. If the pic of the fender if from a 70 then I am guessing it has a breather tube that runs down the fender.

I take back the last comment. I did another google images search and found the breather tube on the fender.

I apologise, Wally. I could swear I read 67 in the title. Perhaps it's early onset dementia.

Rod - ha, I think I am past early onset. I think it is already happening.
