Can anyone send me a photo of how the sidestand should look when up. I have just received a sidestand (using center stand) and it doesn't look right seems to stick out too far. Thanks in advance. clander@columbus.rr.com

I just looked in my photobucket and this is about all I found. I could go out and take a shot of something, though. They all hang out a little, maybe as much as about 1/3 of the footpeg looking down.

I went out and took a couple shots of a real good one. Doesn't stick out as much as I said above. I'll post a pic after all the animals are fed. I think some of those Triumph stands which look just the same as A65 really aren't- bend/length is a little different.

The amount that the side stand tends to protrude out is somwwhat related to the degree of bend the stand has in it. Some stands have been "tweeked" with more or less curve to get a satisfactory lean-over of the bike when on the stand.

Some stands have a lot of curve so protrude out somewhat more over time as a result of the rider leaning the bike over to the stand a bit hard. Also, kick starting the bike on the side stand takes its toll on the curve (see the other current thread about that).

Depending on the amount of bend, the side stand likely folds up to and rests against the center stand spring when the center stand is in use, and folds up a little farther when the center stand is folded up.

Thanks for the photos. Mine sticks out more than the photos show so I am going to have to get it straightened out a tad.
Thanks,
Steve
