Hi GSers,

I have now received my very first AMAL GP carb with a Matchbox float (see photos).
It came with extra throttle size 3,4,5 and some other extras.
Now I need the fittings so I can hold up the float in correct height.

Does any of you have these items? Or do you know someone who does?
i'm enclosing a pic on Dick Manns #64 with his matchbox, don't know if this is right but it you might know.

Please let me know if you can help.
Cheers

Morgan ... I see the float hanger listed on UK eBay. But of course the pieces you need may also be available from one of the UK GS parts suppliers.

I sure have seen the matchbox float hung from a piece of tubing...and yes it's a Known Bodge, I keep track of such things.

Those spiffy rubber mounts are cute tho, I've seen them at several of our sponsor's sites :> I think...

Dave, your link is to R Shearwoods eBay store, he has quite a collection of BSA stuff available.

Bodger ... Thanks for Peter's web site info. It appears he has a
large selection of repop BI pieces from the Netherlands.
http://www.petersclassicbikeparts.nl/contents/en-us/d63.html

With the UKú being low these days it would seem buying
with US$ from UK suppliers may be less cost to us?
I dunno ... but I lust for some more of Phil Pearson's pieces.

Will we see you at the San Jose Clubman Show and the
Morning After Ride 3/27 and 28?
Be there or be sad!

San Jose show, in the events forum yet?
No?.....

Man, I will try to get there somehow....it kills me I missed some people I really needed to meet in years past.

That's great show..I remember once elbowing some fella aside to nab a set of primary cases, it was Dick Mann.
I probably paid too much then, thinking about it now, heh.

Morgan,
Concerning your question about the "round" float chamber, these are the AMAL type 504, and availabe in the UK at Surrey Cycles, although a bit expensive at GBP 231.-
