Ok, I thought that going the Boyer route was going to ease the amount of weight I lost this summer, but I was wrong. History:
1. The bike was running (not great, but would come to life after awhile) so I decided to part with my coppers for a Boyer MkIII.
2. Installed per instructions (I have one on my VS)and checked connections voltage etc.
3. I have been kicking for two days and one lone kickback.
4. I have read the threads on this site.
5. I have read the trouble shooting site at British Cycle, and RF's article on the GA site.
6. I can get a spark by touching the two points plate leads together.
7. New 6 volt coils, copper leads, old caps, new ngk 7BES plugs.
8. Painted dot at points plate lines up. rotor snug on taper.
9. Battery voltage stays around 12.4 with light on for two minutes.
10. Common ground for whole bike. I guess I could ground to battery (not sure how to ground to rectifier per RF since I am running Podtronics.
11. It must be simple, but I am stuck for the moment. I will heed all suggestions.

Not sure if this is relevant, but Sparx EI has specific instructions about stator wire connections. Seems you can kick for 2 days when connected correctly and nOTHING happens, except an occasional pop and a sore foot.

Try reversing the leads on the stator plate from the instructions and see what happens.

Has to do with rotation (CW vs CCW) and the cylinder you use for static timing. Good luck

When you put your new magnet rotor on did you ensure that you had the engine pistons in the correct position by using the special tool.

Switch the plug leads, sounds 180 out of time.
Have the battery load tested.
Your posting says "old caps," does this mean resistor caps? If so, trash them. Try hooking the leads directly to the plugs.

If it didn't run good with the old set-up and it's not running with the new set-up, maybe the problem lies elsewhere. Generally, whenever you're sure it's the ignition, it's the carb, and vice versa. Or something mechanical.
You can eliminate the carb question by spraying a bit of gas into the intake and see if it runs at all. Watch out with the starting fluid, better engines than ours have been destroyed by that stuff.

Just an update. I took the ignition system completely apart, redid all the connections and moved the Boyer box to a location further from the podtronics unit. Reread all of the tech articles on the Georgia and British Cycle site. Still nothing until I took a couple of drops of gas and dropped them in the cylinders and after a couple of kicks it started right up. Now all I have to do is sort out the carbs since I am fouling plugs. I put a timing light on and it was almost spot on. I will work on that when the carbs are sorted.
