Just a ? I have a '67 hornet frame and have a 2 gallon Lightning steel tank. The bracket that holds the tank to the frame seems to be too small to fit over the extension on the frame (underneath gastank). Was there a different bracket for the hornet. I was using a bracket for the '68 Lightning. Thanks for the info. Steve in Ohio

There are at least three different brackets. Normal US steel tank uses 68-8167, large steel tank uses 68-8062 and the GP Spitfire tank uses 68-8099. Gordo

Steve, when you say the bracket won't fit over the pin, do you mean the inner diameter of the bracket is too small? The pins on all the A65 frames I have look the same, somewhere around 5/16" to 3/8" in diameter. The fuel tank brackets I have (for Lightning/Tbolt tanks), are considerably larger than the pin in inner diameter, and require a rubber bushing to take up the play. Without the bushing, the bracket tubing is AT LEAST 1/2" in inside diameter.

I must have the tank mounting rubbers in the wrong place because they hold the tank too far to connect with the bracket. I will try to get the placement better. These are new rubber mounts. Thanks, Steve in Ohio
