which way do the groves face on crank thrust washer A65

The grooves are there to retain oil when it's not being splash fed by the moving crank (e.g. when the motor is stopped for any amount of time).

As yourself this: is this oil needed between the two static faces (case side) or the rotating faces (crank side)?

Also, the thrust washer fits and follows the crank case locale better in the above mentioned position than the other.
