I have wired in a Smith's electronic speedo to the Cyclone and it works a treat, using a multi terminal block connector. The illumination is light years ahead pardon the pun), of the originals. I now would like to wire in the matching rev counter. Each unit comes with its own lead of 9 thin wall wires sheathed in pvc, entering the headlamp via the large grommet. I've now made a new loom using original coloured wires from www.vehiclewiringproducts.co.uk So far, there are no bullet connectors used in the headlamp shell, and I've included a red wire to the battery that connects to the mount bolt from a large eye. I would like each instrument to be independently removed if necessary, so don't wish to permanently join wires of each head together, rather use a common block with switched power connection to live and earth too. Any recommendations for doing this. I'm looking for a particular block type that is rugged dependable etc. Anyone else done this?

Regards

Gavin

I use AMP Superseal 1.5 Series connectors for mine. They are waterproof and very robust. They are a little bit bigger than other types of connectors but they hide out of the way under the tank. They are used throughout the Auto industry.

Hope this helps. Keith.

Get yourself over to Kojaycat and buy some Japanese or marine connectors .

They have a ton to choose from and load better than bullets (unless its a concours bike but you wouldnt be fitting them if it was)

Thanks Keith I've got a few. Any one tried to connect into the headlamp? I'm just educating myself as to the options available. It's the MCH61, so I have room!

I have a Smiths electronic tacho fitted, its been a while , but I recall that all 9 of the cores were not used, the only wire that needed added to the spine loom was the tacho signal from the coils, , the other connections were made in the lamp bucket, i used japanese type bullets, unfortunately i dont have the matching speedo, so no help there.

Keith: The superseal connectors way to go, I just need to get some more!
Gavin: Yup Japanese connectors are my choice too, I have plenty!

Cheers
