Hi!
Anyone have a source for stout Hex- broached washers for repairing transmission bracket to accommodate the foot peg cross bolt on RE/Indians? They were originally spot welded on in addition to the stamped & punched bracket... Welding up the wallowed holes and air-filing to shape is getting older & older!

REgards!

Do Hitchcocks have anything suitable ?
It never even occurred to me that something may be otherwise commercially available.

Dabbing on weld and hex filing skills are part of the territory !?

India. Bullets from India use a same or similar engine bracket, with big lug for the small center stand, not the larger one.
Additional input from Mark Mumford: India Bullet engine plates have the washers with internal hex; beware they may not have the the hex welded on with the same orientation as English bikes or, for that matter, the same as each other in a "pair". Another source of hex washers is the top of stanchions, if you have a stanchion damaged beyond repair. Recall the note in the shop manuals about using the hex bar from the footrests as a wrench to remove the stanchions.

Something like this is a piece of cake for a laser or water jet shop..
Trouble is, they'd tell you to "keep movin'" if you only needed a couple.

Will work for Guinness smile
