I'm looking for a '71 oif B25T engine (preferably complete, but anything considered), for a project if anyone can help? Living in France probably dictates that it would have to be in the UK or Europe re shipping costs! Thanks. Brad

Thanks Steve. Unfortunately, my internet protection package blocks entry to the site on the grounds of security, and has done for a while now!

You can use a pre 71 engine, some work but possible.

1. Add a spacer to the rear mount to suit the wider OIF mount.

2. Front to rear there is a 1/8" difference in hole pitch for engine mounts. If the holes on the engine are already worn it may fit anyway.

3. Oil manifold needs to be accounted for, either cut cross member off frame or modify engine to take the later screw in pipes.

I,d be tempted to use a b40 engine , there will be some mounting mods but its do-able.
years ago I had difficulty finding a 250 motor for a starfire . I think the kids of the day wrecked them in a short space of time.

Many thanks for the replies. It does need to be a wide lug oif 250 motor though as I'm building (I hope!) a '72 spec 250T.

And thanks for the offer of posting on B50.org Trevor, it's much appreciated. Unfortunately my mobile is also 1972 spec and just about handles phone calls and text messages, but little else! PM on its way.

Problem. Attempting to PM you Trevor results in this message each time: "BSA_WM20 is over their Private Topic limit."

I don't understand it but will try again later.

Just sold my B50MX to raise the cash for this project and some home improvements! You're right though, but I only have access to very twisty rough going now where the power of the B50 is wasted. This bike is intended for use alongside my current B25T when my pal from the UK visits. In an ideal world I'd still have all the bikes I owned up until recently, but...

Just to close this thread, against all intentions I've actually ended up buying a B50 engine, these seemingly more plentiful than the 250s!! Thanks for all of the replies.
