So …. I fitted 4 stud forks to my bike, all rebuilt with new seals etc, but like a muppet I didn't tighten one of the top nuts properly and some oil leaked out. is there an easy way to check the oil level or is it just drain out what is left and re fill with the correct amount?

Oil levels in forks was after these bikes, but you have one leg where the level is correct so measure that and then top up the other side to match.

One is remined of the classic cartoon when Malcolm couldn't get his bike started, Ogri finally pointed out that there was no petrol in the tank, to Malcolm's whimpering reply of "..... but that's too simple" ! (at a guess our colonial cousins do not get the cultural references)
