I wanted to get used to the Beemer again before TSMR, so I took a nice ride today.
Went down to Fall Creek Falls state park, one of the more popular of our parks. The park is open, but the public restrooms are closed. Plenty of trees available though. laugh
From there I ventured up through Sparta, the home of Lester Flatt. From there it's US 70 back home. 70 used to be Tennessee highway 1, the first cross-state highway from east to west.
Finally starting to smile when I ride the K, I used to have the expression of a panzer commander.

Looks like a very nice run out/invasion procedure, did you encounter much resistance?

Sure is a pretty part of the country! And a nice day for it too. Hoping to get out on Wednesday if the weather doesn't turn on us ...

You know about pretty parts of the country Lannis. I've traveled up 81 to Syracuse a few times. Always wanted to make the same trip up US 11, beautiful during leaf season!

Not much resistance Nick. Very few cars out, but quite a few Hoglies.

Great photos David, thanks for taking us along.

I'm going to practice some hooliganism of my own this afternoon on the modern Triumph (working on the swingarm on the Jubilee). It's essential travel as it's essential to my mental, emotional and spiritual health!

I hope TSMR is still happening, but I'm not holding my breath. Anyone heard/talked to Melissa yet?

Cheers,

Steve

I-81 isn't bad for an Interstate unless the truck traffic is fierce - on a light day it can be a pretty ride.

US11 is a really nice ride through TN, especially if you then use US58W to go northwest out of Bristol, then take VA700 (Rich Valley Rd), then VA91 north, then VA42 north to VA259 ... all back roads through the mountain valleys that take you 300 miles through Virginia paralleling 11 and 81. 259 goes almost to Maryland, and then ask ...
