Wade, crikey! How much would that have cost in the old days using 35mm film.
So glad you all had a great time exploring the local area, that is exactly what I was trying to design the rally for.
See you in Czech ?
Andy

OK so this motivated me to FINALLY go thru all my own photos and get them sorted. Still have some to do but I am most of the way there. SO here we go, more or less top to bottom

Loading up before the off from Chez Gibbons, Chatham

Meeting Kev and Karl & Julie B at the Rose Revived, upriver on the Thames

Egli framed BSA, very interesting. Glad I got the pix I did of this- He came for the open day on Sunday and left, something I didn't realize at the time.

Opening ceremony, not sure even the English knew exactly what to think of the Morris Dancers...

... judging from the looks on peoples' faces

[Linked Image from ricochetridersmotomojo.zenfolio.com]

So good to see Karl & Julie- They came and met us at the Rose Revived, then made it to camp for Open Day. They came a long way and made a weekend of it.

Cynthia trying the modern Bonnie on for size. She looks like she likes it.

Sarah with daughter & granddaughter. Good people right here. The apples don't fall too far from the tree.

to be continued.....

More from around the village of Moreton In Marsh.

You know the place you're at is old if there's a sundial on the town hall!

This ornate wooden steeple/clocktower/cupola had me transfixed. Love the boar's head!

Right. SO a couple days. into the Rally, some of the folks took a bus ride over to a "living museum", and Cynthia went along with the Crew. That left me to my own devices, which was pretty much riding moto-cycles and taking photos. I had looked at maps and stuff of local attractions that the Rally Organizers put together for us, and set my sights on a few things which included a Bugatti Museum and a local Historical Railroad. Lets say that I made one and never did see the other, being as I was what I call "on the bus" which means I'm not so much in control of things on a trip where other people are involved, as a measure politeness on y part, I guess... Much as I would LOVE for it to be "all about ME", well.... you know.

So after some mucking about I hopped on the bike and took off in the general direction of the 2 aforementioned "attractions". Mostly not knowing where I was going, so just followed my front wheel around for a while heading generally away from camp and what I thought was towards wherever it was I was going. Now if you don't know it already, England has a pretty big farming thing happening and the Cotswolds is not exception to the rule, in fact they are maybe one of the more shining examples of English Farming, with MASSIVE wheat farms all across the region. The secondary benefit of all this farming is, of course, fresh food in all the local pubs, so there is that.

Here's some pix of my ride that day...

There was clearly a couple vintage car rallies happening teh area during the week of the Rally, as we kept seeing Morgans and old Triumph cars here and there all week...

I always thought horses, as much as they were made to ride, are also pretty darn photogenic as well. These two were no exception, although they weren't about to start hamming it up for the camera.

[Linked Image from ricochetridersmotomojo.zenfolio.com]

I wound up passing through the tiny, out of the way village named Snowshill on my way from wherever I was to wherever I was going. Little did I know I'd be seeing more of this place later in the week!

It was really quite a lovely day, and I had fun noodling around the lanes and gawking at stuff I would never had taken the time to see under other circumstances

Eventually I came out on a road I thought I was going to end up on, and whilst flogging -er, um I mean RIDING the bike towards the furthest point, that being the Bugatti Musem, I spotted the Historical Railroad. I whipped the bike around in some roundabout and pulled in to see the trains, and ended up killing the day. It wasn't horrible tho, and I had fun watching people and the trains...
