I am assembling a 750 gearbox for a LSR Triumph, I found small hairline cracks on the layshafts, is this common problem? Any help here would be appreciated. I should mention the gearbox is from a Norton.

Never had an issue with the layshaft itself but then I do not do LSR, I have had a layshaft inner bearing failure where the cage disintegrates and allows the balls to fall out of the bearing, fix is a roller bearing and is well documented.
