For Sale is my last Norton Commando front brake caliper. It is in good condition with one problem, the bleed screw was broken off and it appears that either a drill or an easy-out has broken off inside trying to remove it (see photos). This is probably an easy fix for someone who knows what they are doing. The interior looks good and all other threads are good. I will include 2 pistons that may be usable. They have some pitting on the surface that was outside of the seals.
In any case I am including those free with the caliper: $40 for the caliper. Shipping at my cost is $16 . Paypal is accepted for payment. Thanks. John

Looking closely at them, I believe you are correct, unless they came that way from the factory?

John

Most of the Norton/Lockheed calipers I've seen are fitted with Helicoils. I'm certain they came that way from the Factory.

I wonder how hard it would be to get it out. I need a caliper.

Norcoastal, you would have to check perhaps with an automotive machine shop about removal. No doubt they would have seen this before.

Norcoastal---to get the drill or easyout out from the caliper----as they are hard you cant drill it out.
Best to look for an engineering company that has EDM equipment---this stands for Electro-discharge machining---they will be able to spark erode the drill etc out of the caliper.

Seems like a difficult task and maybe even expensive.Do you have any info on this process? Is it expensive to repair? I wonder where to find a shop that has this?

Norcoastal--- I have no personal experience of these companies--but it may be worth your while giving a few of them a call:
