Stevie, its a real bugger isn't it. I don't think they could have made the brake light switch operation more fiddley and complicated. Rounding up all the necessary pieces is a big job by itself, and if you have to replace that switch it is an expensive piece of kit. I think Sparx makes a repop one, but even it is comparably expensive. I redid the whole mess on my 1966 Spitfire rebuild about three years ago. Your post and Beach's photo prompted me to comment.
