Thought these might be of interest, as it's Goldstar related, and it's quiet on the forum.

Hmmmmm…..Maybe I WILL make clocks out of my duff T100 timing covers after all. Too many projects, not enough time. Those are beautiful. Are they your work? Most of the stuff I've seen over the years was mostly pistons "made" into ashtrays...….

Cheers, Wilf

Thanks both for your comments, yes they are my work.

I made the pattern to cast a drum for a 190 mm brake, job done, my mate suggested putting a clock in it, and things went from there.
I got the Goldstar clock of E-Bay, it's printed on an old 45 Record.

The Al-Fin sprocket/drum is pseudo, I made the muff and modified a standard drum.

The small piece of concrete on the plinth of the connecting rod clock, came from the members banking, Brooklands, birth place of the naming of the Goldstar.

It's not that I haven't got plenty of other things to be getting on with, but it was quite relaxing, being able to make it up as you went along, and being spot on size was of no consequence.

Being able to make it up as you go along more or less defines what it is to be an artist. Congratulations.

They are definitely among the best I’ve seen, where did the clock/watch in the con rod come from? I guess you made the brass bezel and fitting to hold it in? I would like to make one myself.

I love the look of the brass against the polished steel of the connecting rod and valves. If I had the time I'd be strongly tempted to copy what you did with this design.

Hi Mal, I'm afraid I can't take credit for the bezel.
The clock came from CS Crafts, model 55GOLROM
I made a 50mm alloy insert, and loctited into the rod.

Many thanks Brian
Got one coming for an Aermacchi rod lying around wasting space. Now it could look useful.
